We have the most beautiful selection of flowers in the studio at the moment ready and waiting for our photo shoots. One of my all time favourites is the flannel flower - a native of Australia which is nice to know. It's delicate and pretty but not too frilly for my sensibilities.
We used them in our Nice Day for a White Wedding story in Issue 10. Annabelle, our editor, started her wedding career as a florist making countless bridal bouquets and tablecentres. What she doesn't know about flowers isn't worth knowing and her skills come in very handy when we're planning our magazine stories. Annabelle made the beautiful shower bouquet that we used in the story - a relaxed arrangement of Iceberg roses, lilies and flannel flowers - just lovely.
Perhaps you might like to consider using the flannel flower in your wedding arrangements. Go on, support a local!

Heel Huggers
It's always so devastating when you return home from a wedding, party or general good night out to find your favourite heels ruined from walking on grass and that nasty stuff - gravel. To see your fave shoes with tears, scuffs, dents; it's enough to make you cry. I'm so happy to share with you all a brand new product that arrived on my desk last week - Heel Huggers. Unique, discreet and so easy to use, Heel Huggers are clear plastic tubes that are placed over your heel and then blasted with the hairdryer to fix into place. How easy is that?! They're suitable for all materials and colours so now you won't have to suffer the dreaded shoe check the morning after. Relief! Heel Huggers (RRP$19.95) are by Original Sole so visit www.originalsole.com.au to find out your nearest stockist.

Get the Flo Glow
I'm a Kate Spade fan - I love their design sensibility - modern with a classic grounding. Found this stunning Flo for Fluorescent Multiple Bauble Necklace on their site today. At USD$495 this would sure add dazzle to a simple dress. All I have to do now is work out how to get it here. Overseas shopping services like Bongo International may just do the trick.

Marvelous Monique
The images from Monique Lhuillier's new 2011 bridal collection hit my inbox today and I have to say I'm in lurve. Quite simply spectacular. How on earth would you choose? My favourites would have to be gowns one and two. The tulle wrapped around the shoulders makes for such a soft, feminine look. The collection will be available from the lovely Helen Rodrigues from around September this year so make sure you keep posted. Visit www.moniquelhuillier.com or www.helenrodrigues.com.au for all the details.

Spiked
If you're a bride with a hip, trendy edge then you're going to fall madly for these seriously fierce Christian Louboutin Engin Spike 120 sandals. These white patent and PVC heels, adorned with white spike studs, feature a towering 4.5 inch heel with a 1 inch platform. If pretty, Swarovski embellished heels aren't your thing then I suggest you invest in these babies. Available online at www.net-a-porter.com.

Caravan of Love
It's always so exciting seeing who is following us on Twitter. Yesterday I was thrilled to find my favourite brand J Crew had become a follower.
I was also interested to learn more about Blue Caravan. What a find - can't believe I hadn't seen this site before today. They offer an opportunity for "buyers and sellers of all things independently designed and ethically made". Sounds good to me.
I love these stationery items from Ruby Victoria Letterpress in Tasmania...
And look at this gorgeous little note book from Me and Amber in Sydney...
Lots to look at - it's like our own little Etsy on our doorstep.

Read All About It
Imagine our surprise to find the most lovely blog entry about our sweet little magazine from renown US photographer Aaron Delesie. We have been lucky enough to work with Aaron over the past few months putting together some of the most amazingly beautiful weddings for the magazine in coming issues.
"I have a new favorite magazine! Wedding Style Guide is a magazine out of Australia and I don't believe there is anyone in the world at this time producing a better wedding publication. The creative direction of this publication is beyond amazing! "
We are so humbled to read his oh-so-flattering feedback - read all about it here. Thank you Aaron.

Marquee Magic
The beautiful autumn days we are enjoying have led us to dream about marquee weddings. We love the stylish and elegant wedding of Elizabeth and Anton, shot by Blumenthal Photography, that we featured in Issue 10. We hope you will find it equally as inspiring.

Veiled Beauty
I found the sweet I Do Wedding Veils on the Made It site today (think Etsy but Australian based). This beautiful birdcage veil sells for $60 plus postage from New South Wales. Featuring French netting and with chenille dots this beautiful veil is available in white and ivory. It would make a lovely addition to a vintage style dress and less formal than a full length gown.

Number One
These would make a fun styling addition for a wedding reception or engagement party. Each table could be set with coasters of the same number - or the coaster could be used in a tablecard holder to announce the number from a distance. They're letterpress printed from Red Bird Ink and cost USD$8.00 for 4 plus postage from the US.

Take a Leaf
After making contact with a lost friend, Cath Connell, on the weekend, I was surprised to find out about her amazing new stationery business called Leaf. Cath has used her background in graphic design and paper marketing & sales to put together a great collection of products aimed at helping us record and celebrate our own personal stories.
One of the products, Girl Talk, is well suited to our wedding industry - "Gather the girls together and share your stories of love, life and fabulous shoes". The perfect idea for a fun hen's night.
Each pack of Story Starters comes with prompts to get the conversation flowing - 'The first time…', 'The most romantic…', 'In 10 years time…' - all guaranteed to get a party started.
I am in awe of Cath's achievement and wish her every success with Leaf.

Hip to be Square
Who doesn't love a vintage style pic, with muted colours and all the nicks and scratches that add charm to an old photograph? Well, you're going to love the iPhone app, Hipstamatic. Claudio Raschella, one of our photographers, put me on to it - he has got me hooked! For USD$2.49 it comes with a few standard film and flash settings which each vary the look of the final photograph, but you can purchase additional settings if you want the full set.
These are a couple of pics I took during a photo shoot last week - Annabelle's reviewing some flowers for a bouquet - they show just two of the effects you can expect to achieve.
Claude's tip - once you've loaded the app, go to your settings, scroll down to Hipstamatic and turn 'high quality prints' on. This will give you a bit more flexibility if you want to print the images.

Frill Seeker
These Christian Louboutin strappy sandals are just too pretty. The question then remains - why would you want to have them hidden under a long dress? Short is the answer if you have these sandals on your pretty feet. I'm not convinced they'd be particularly comfortable for 5+ hours, however they are adorable. There's no real argument, is there?! Available to purchase online at www.net-a-porter.com.

Good Day
I know it's going to be a good day when a package from Follow Studio lands on my desk. So exciting - a beautiful kraft box brimming full of product for our upcoming photo shoot. I was also delighted to find a little package of goodies including this lovely 'hooray' card and oh-so-chic striped notepad.
I am seriously in love with the stationery from Follow Studio - it is classic, understated and sophisticated. Their wedding stationery is divine.

In the Picture
Many people go into the making of a magazine. One of our trusty team is photographer Simon Casson. Not only does Simon shoot specifically for us, he is also an accomplished wedding photographer and we often feature his beautiful weddings in the magazine. You couldn't hope to meet a nicer fella and days spent with Simon are always lots of fun. I took these photos of him yesterday as he worked. Let me tell you, photographers make terrible subjects - they obviously feel far more comfortable on the other side of the lens!
Do have a look at Simon's fantastic wedding photography folio - he travels nationwide shooting beautiful weddings from every corner of the country. We are very lucky to have him on board.
