Fashion Flourishes in New York
Spring is full steam ahead in New York as the Spring/Summer 09 shows continue. Hot pink, orange and yellow seem to be the colours of the season with reds and royal blue's also a fave. Ruffles and frills have made a triumphant comeback. There's nothing quite like a ruffle or frill to put a spring in your step.

Have Your Cake & Eat It!
Celebrities can sometimes be a bit off centre but their wedding cake's have been spot on. Take a leaf out of their book and go the whole hog... you're tummy will be glad you did!

Britney Spears & Kevin Federline's double-tier butter cream cake encased in white chocolate and adorned with sugar roses and leaves was created by Perfect Endings.

Jaime King & Kyle Newman's cake was a three-tier berry and coconut creation decorated with the same roses that were in her bouquet.

Donald Trump & Melania Knauss's 5ft high 50 pound, seven-tier orange Grand Marnier chiffon cake with a light Grand Marnier butter cream filling was topped with 3,000 white-icing roses and was created by Cedric Barbaret from Mar-a-Lago.

Pierce Brosnan & Keely Shaye Smith had their six-tier carrot cake designed by Mich Turner from London's Little Venice Cake Company. It was based on wedding cake of Jacqueline Kennedy's.

Marcia Cross invited her girlfriends to a tasting at the Layers Cake Design Studio in California. Each picked a favourite flavour and the result? A five-tier confectioners dream.

When Nip/Tuck star Dylan Walsh married Joann Going they opted for a 1920's style three-tier chocolate lace cake topped with chocolate ribbon from Scrumptions in East Greenwich.

In the Bag
Are these clever or what! With the introduction of plastic bag laws taking effect early next year, there's a very good reason to get organised ahead of time with a nifty carry bag. No more schlepping around town with a dowdy supermarket bag - use these and stride in style. These are from Showpony in the UK, £10 each + postage and they do ship internationally.
