Real Wedding - Karen & Paul

One or our favourite weddings from our autumn issue was Karen and Pauls at Gunners' Barracks. It was a fun and relaxed wedding that really celebrated their love. Karen incorporated a lot of thoughtful touches that helped make their day unique to them.

We didn't have space in the magazine to show the stationery that Karen designed for her wedding. Below is the screen printed invite as well as the balloon hens party invitation - such great ideas!

Karen and Paul's wedding was shot by Bradley Patrick from SugarLove Weddings. Bradley has also just launched his new commercial site: www.bradleypatrick.com which showcases a lot of the celebrity work he has done.

Real Wedding - Julia Downs & Simon Strong

For their recent wedding in New South Wales Julia & Simon wanted the feel of their big day to be, most imporantly, homely. Choosing vintage, nostalgic and handmade undertones, they created more than just a homely feel. The day was filled to the brim with love, happiness and lots of emotion. They held their wedding in The Q Stations Govenor Bourke Room surrounded by family and friends. Julia opted for a Maggie Sottero gown and being the clever girl she is she even did her own bouquet! The palette was mainly neutral with a bold splash of yellow to celebrate Australia's colonial roots. A big congratulations to Julia & Simon!

A Short Story

It seems that model weddings are happening left, right and centre at the moment! Anja Rubik wed her long time partner and fellow model, Sasha Knezevic, on the Spanish island of Mallorca over the weekend. Anja's modern Pucci gown was designed for her by Emilio Pucci designer and close friend Peter Dundas. With a short hem, long, flowing skirt and a veil Anja looked every bit the modern model bride. This gown is a fabulous choice for a destination wedding but it also helps when you have amazing legs such as hers. Congrats!

Artistic Flair

Watching a friend getting married is always a very exciting and emotional time. If you're after a gift that is different to any other, something completely unique and personal and something the'll cherish forever it's worth considering an illustration. Specialising in personalized illustrations, Shereen Kahn, will take a photograph and turn it into a piece of art that will be treasured forever. Having studied fashion and currently working in the film industry in the costume department, Shereen draws using pencil, Gauche watercolour, black ink, pastel and charcoal on surfaces of canvas paper, watercolour paper, fabrics or anything that takes your fancy. All Shereen will need from you is a few relevant photographs of the subject, what medium you want the illustration done in, and whether you'd like a side, back or front view. The cost of the illustration can be anywhere from $150 to $350 depending on dress, size and style of drawing so if you'd like to find out more please visit Shereen Khan's Facebook page by clicking HERE.

Real Wedding - Zoe Chen & John Lee

One of our favourite weddings we've featured in our winter issue (on sale now!) is that of the gorgeous Zoe Chen & John Lee. Shot by Jose Villa, the wedding is vibrant, relaxed and full of fun and unique styling ideas. We loved the couples seating chart printed on a gorgeous array of coloured and patterned papers. We also adored their paper rosettes, designed so guests knew who was friends with the bride and who was friends with the groom. John even illustrated the cute image of Zoe & himself and Zoe loved them so much they were incorporated in to many aspects of their day. We think this wedding proves that a relaxed and fun wedding can still be big on ideas and neat aspects. Choosing a few key colours will then help to tie even the simplest of ideas together making the day one your guests will remember for years to come. To view more of Jose's fabulous and inspiring work visit his website at www.josevillaphoto.com.
