New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 - Carolina Herrera

New York Fashion Week is always a colourful affair especially where spring and summer are concerned. American's aren't affraid to use colour and it certainly showed as the spring/summer collections were bursting with vibrant, adventurous but easily wearable shades. I've always loved bright orange and pink as a colour combination and Carolina Herrera opted to have these two hues as the base to her new collection. Amazing! She always manages to make evening wear look so effortless. Her use of details like bows, sashes and crystals makes the pieces look ever so feminine which is why she's always a favourite amongst the a-list for red carpet do's. Visit www.carolinaherrera.com for collection details.

Oh my! These are my kind of cakes. How exquisite is the detailing? Found via the Lushlee blog, these beauties are by Maggie Austin Cake in the US. I really couldn't stop looking through the amazing portfolio of samples.

I hope they fill you with inspiration as they have me.

Sneak Peek #2

The fashion shoot in our upcoming issue, out tomorrow, is really something special. Titled White Hot, it showcases some of the most beautiful gowns available to brides in Australia. The opening spread features the stunning Amsale Ella silk-faced, satin, strapless gown available exclusively at Angela Wilson. And I just adore the Guipure lace and English silk tulle gown from Steven Khalil - absolutely beautiful.

Of course, our fabulous photographs were shot by Claudio Raschella who always puts his heart and soul into each shoot. I'm sure you can tell just looking at his work.

Be sure to check out our new issue to see all the amazing White Hot gowns we have in store for you.

Sneak Peek

Our new issue hits the shelves this Wednesday - it's our biggest and best yet (yes, I know I always say that, but it really is!).

To get you all in the mood, here is a little sneak peek at one of my favourite stories - Bloom Boom. Featuring the timeless qualities of floral patterns, this story shows you how to bring just the right amount of pretty to a wedding with delicate florals and contemporary styling.

Not content with showing you every detail to style this theme, we've included a kids' table in the story, just right for all the little guests.

And the best part...Annabelle's daughter, Eliza, was our adorable little model. I can't wait to show you all the behind-the-scenes shots I took as she munched her way through handfuls of popcorn with us all watching on. She really did have the best time which is a pretty good indicator that your little guests will love it too.
