Girls Guide
I have just found out about Girls' Guide to the World which is a bit like trip advisor but for stylish women who want to know where to shop, eat, drink, sleep, pamper, and play. Girls’ Guide has done all the research for you and provides unbiased and insightful tips for women, by women with high expectations and a craving for fashionably experiencing the world. It features over 3,000 venues in over 100 hand-picked cities around the globe. Girls’ Guide to the World was thought up by 28 year old Carey Schuster, an American interior designer living and working in Sydney. Schuster has a craving for outstanding design, cuisine, service, entertainment, fashion, and architecture, especially when she’s travelling. “When I choose to spend the money and time to travel, I don’t want to be disappointed. I want to eat at the tasty restaurant off of Main Street that the locals are trying to keep secret. I want to stay at the hippest hotels, which doesn’t always mean the most publicized or most expensive. And when I hit the shops, I want to know about up and coming local designers and where to find their labels. That’s where Girls’ Guide delivers. There is no better advice than a discerning woman’s first hand account.”

Behr Hug
Ever since I discovered Jennifer Behr earlier this year I've been a little bit in love and it seems I'm not the only one with a love affair for JB. Kim Kardashian, Amy Adams, Helena Christensen, Nicole Richie and Natalie Portman have all adorned their pretty lil' faces with these pretty-as-a-picture pieces. I opted for one of her super sparkly pieces to adorn our gorgeous model, Angela, on the cover of our new winter issue and how amazing did it look?!!! Jennifer very kindly sent me a sneak peak of her Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. Pretty? Understatement! I've shared with you some of my favourites. How do you choose?! If you want to view them for yourself (I'm sure they'll be up very soon!) visit www.jenniferbehr.com and Jennifer is delighted to ship to anyone in Australia.

Orange and Blue How Do You Do?
One of my favourite colour combinations for spring/summer 2010 is orange and pale aqua blue. Orange is emerging as one of the hottest colours for the warmer months and teemed with this delightful blue it really is a force to be reckoned with. I think it would make such a colourful, fun palette for either a wedding or engagement party. This Oscar de la Renta dress is just gorgeous. I know it's extravagant but imagine your bridesmaids all lined up in this creation. Simply delicious! Blue cakes aren't always that appealing, however a cake in a super soft shade can look lovely and oh so pretty. Flowers are a great and easy way to incorporate the orange palette as there's so much variety. I suggest scouring your flower markets for great ideas. I think this palette for spring/summer 2010 is going to mighty popular!

Fantastic Felt
I adore these lovely felt corsages from Etsy by AAliciaAccessories. The simplicity and elegance of these beautiful pieces would be a perfect adornment for a winter wedding outfit - many of them would even look divine used as table decorations, winding down the centre of the table.

Super Silica
There is one thing brides want (just about as much as the perfect wedding dress) and that's flawless skin. You'll change your diet, stop drinking alcohol, do more exercise and undertake a ridiculous beauty plan all in the hope of having a crystal clear glow. I'm always intrigued by models beauty regimes and recommendations and after reading an interview with Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw, who said she swore by Silica, I was in. I headed straight to my local pharmacy and low and behold, there it was. I am now nearly through my second bottle (I opted Planet Health Qsilica in liquid form) and cannot speak highly enough of it. My complexion is clear and even, redness has been well and truly reduced, my nails and cuticles are the healthiest they've ever been, my hair breakages have been reduced to the bare minimum, my hair is growing faster and my skin in general is softer, smoother and responds even better to moisturiser. Could it honestly get any better?! I've now converted a few girlfriends after they pointed out my skin was looking fab. The best ever proof that something is working wonders! Planet Health's Qsilica Gel is a convenient form of mineral silica, which is important for the health of connective tissue, skin, hair, nails, and joint cartilage. Silica also plays a key role in the production of collagen in the skin and can also help to support and maintain strong bones and teeth by playing a role in the metabolism of calcium in the body. Each bottle of gel lasts between 6-8 weeks (depending on how much you take) and will honestly make a huge difference. So, I have Abbey Lee Kershaw to thank now! Visit www.qsilica.com.au to find out more.

500ml bottle $29.95, 50 capsules $29.95 and 100 capsules $49.90

Man of the Match
Menswear Spring/Summer 2010

I am a lover of gorgeous suits. A well tailored suit made of beautiful fabric can transform a man. It's more imporant than ever, on your wedding day, to have 'the' suit. It's likely a man will wear the suit he wears on his wedding day many times throughout his life (if he keeps tabs on his waist), whether it be a casual garden or a black tie suit.
I'm always a fan of the menswear spring/summer 2010 collections. The suits are phenominal and the men wearing the suits are even better! The embellished dinner jackets at Dolce & Gabbana were amazing. Sequins on a man never looked so sexy! I loved the bright oranges used at Trussardi, Emporio Armani and Bottega Veneta. Colour is a brave choice but it can wow. My standout suit was the black and white creation by Moschino. I don't honestly think a man could look any more suave if he tried. A brilliant take on the ever popular dinner suit. I also should point out Etro adorned their lapels with the most gorgeous fabric flower buttonholes. Made from the fabrics from the shirt, ties and bowties I thought they were a fab idea if wearing a real flower isn't really your style. Definitely a great way to add your own flair.

Choo for Everyone
I don't think I've ever met a girl who hasn't wished for a pair of Jimmy Choo's. They're the dream, the benchmark... and they make me very excited! I have, today, become rather jealous and a little bitter. Jimmy Choo are releasing a collection for High Street mega store H&M. If you are lucky enough to live in North America, Europe, the Middle East or Asia you will, no doubt, be rubbing your hands with glee while those of us who do not have an H&M store within reach scowl and think 'why me?'. From November 14 H&M will stock Jimmy Choo accessories for men and women, as well as a clothing line. So, get yourself prepped to battle the crowds on November 14. These hot little pieces will be gone before you have the chance to bat your eyelashes at the sales assistant. Visit www.hm.com for further details.

I'm loving the new stationery range from Sydney designers Belles & Whiselles. Their first range of wedding stationery consists of blank greeting cards, kitchen tea, hens party invites, save the date and thank you notes, along with individual congratulations and celebrations cards. Each of their cute cards and invites are accompanied by a hand embossed Belles & Whiselles black envelope and ribbon and packaged together in a crisp cello bag. And with all B&W stationery being 100% Australian hand made it's the perfect time to support great young designers.

Pretty Polly
I have recently been in discussions with the lovely ladies at Sarah Kaye Representation about the amazing photographs by UK photographer Polly Wreford. I first noticed Polly's pics in some of my favourite English magazines and was thrilled to find an enormous portfolio of work online. Polly's photographs are nothing short of stunning. I'm sure you will agree they are terribly inspiring.

Branching Out
Now this is an interesting idea - a family tree style chart that plots the relationship of the bride and groom to all of their guests. What a lovely way to commemorate one of the biggest events of your life. Created by Mélangerie Inc in NYC, it's available to purchase through Etsy. And the best bit (for fussy people like me), they can customise the colours to match your theme perfectly.

Gorgeous Garters
Garters were always things I wasn't sold on. The idea of hitching up my skirt in front of my Dad and elderly friends and family wasn't something that really appealed. However, my views have been changed. I came across the gorgeous custom made garters by the talented Julianne Smith. Forget the tacky garters that so many brides wear... I suggest you custom make your own, with the help of Julianne of course! With prices ranging from $27 to $60 they are great value. Julianne specialises in custom orders, making it super easy for the bride to match her personality or her wedding theme to her garter. All of the garters are hand crafted to order. To browse the collection or to contact Julianne about having your own custom garter made visit www.juliannesmith.com.

The Video King
One aspect of a wedding often overlooked by couples is whether or not to hire a videographer. In my time I have seen piles of beyond average videos that make you cringe. If a lasting memory of your big day, other than photographs, is what you want then I suggest you take our advice and speak to C2 Video. Marcus Theodor, the mastermind behind C2's fabulous videos, is a whizz when it comes to knowing exactly what you want out of your wedding video. Forget tacky music, cheesy angles and horrid colour... C2's videos are gorgeous, natural and lovely to watch. C2's videos make the truly wonderful, lasting memories of your big day even better.
Here you'll find a sample from the video of Sasha & Penola's wedding, held at Point Nepean National Park on the 28 Feb 2009. With a marquee set up on the sprawling lawns it was the perfect setting for this gorgeous wedding. Sasha arrived in a plane that was converted to a bus. How funky! Sasha made the video even more personal by writing and performing the sound track.

To speak to Marcus about an amazing wedding video for your big day visit www.c2video.com.au or call him on 03 9419 1163. You will be truly amazed by what you'll discover!
